RESOLUTION NO. 18-140
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTES, AND AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT, 2018 SURFACE WATER MAINTENANCE PROJECT
WHEREAS, pursuant to a request for quotes for the construction of the 2018 Surface Water
Maintenance Project, quotes were received, and tabulated:

WHEREAS, it appears that Olson's Sewer Service, Inc. is the lowest responsible quote; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes that the
Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Olson's Sewer
Service, Inc., in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the construction of the 2018 Surface Water
Maintenance Project according to the plans and specifications approved by the City Council and on
file in the office of the City Clerk; and
Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 22nd day of October, 2018.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member
Rafferty and was duly seconded by Council Member Maher and upon
vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor there

INTRODUCTION
Staff is requesting authorization to accept quotes and award the construction contract for the
2018 Surface Water Maintenance Project.
BACKGROUND
The City's annual Surface Water Management program addresses areas in need of maintenance,
and conforms to the City's Surface Water Pollution and Prevention Plan. The proposed
maintenance for this year includes cleaning of storm sewer outfalls, removal of vegetation and
sediment din stormwater ponds, minor pond excavation and storm sewer structure
repair/replacement. Sites are selected for maintenance based on public input, input from Public
Works, and feasibility of locations.
Quotes were received for the above -referenced project on October 16, 2018. The quotes were
checked for mathematical accuracy and tabulated.

The low quote was submitted by Olson's Sewer Service, Inc., Forest Lake, Minnesota, in the
amount of $105,706.00. The completion date for this project is December 29, 2018.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 18-140 accepting quotes and awarding a
construction contract for the 2018 Surface Water Maintenance Project, in the amount of
$105,706.00 to Olson's Excavating Service.
