HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-071 Council OrdinancesORDINANCE NO. 71 CITY OF LINO LAKES aAk COUNTY OF ANOKA STATE OF MINNESOTA '\ AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE STARTING OR ACCELERATING OF ANY MOTOR VEHICLE WITH AN UNNECESSARY EXHIBITION OF SPEED; PROVIDING PENAL TIES FOR VIOLATIONS. The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, Minnesota, does ordain: SECTION I. UNNECESSARY SPEED. No person shall start or accelerate any motor vehicle with an unnecessary exhibition of speed on any public or private way. Prima facie evidence of such unnecessary exhibition of speed shall be unreasonable squealing or screeching sounds emitted by the tires or the thorwing of sand and gravel by the tires of said vehicle or both. SECTION II. PENALTY. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a petty misde- meanor and shall be punished by a fine notto exceed $100.00. SECTION III. EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage and publication according to law.
