HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-038 Council ResolutionCITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 19-38 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 3-19 FOR PUBLICATION WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the first and second reading of Ordinance No. 3-19, WHEREAS, MN Statute 412.191 provides for a city to publish a summary of an ordinance, and WHEREAS, the City Council determines that the summary clearly informs the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance, and WHEREAS, publication in the City's official newspaper will include a notice that a full printed copy of the ordinance is available at City Hall. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes approves the summary in Attachment A for publication according to state law and the City Charter. Adopted by the Council of the Lino Lakes this 25th day of March 2019. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member Maher and was duly seconded by Council Member Stoesz and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Maher, Stoesz, Rafferty, Manthey, Reinert The following voted against same: none ATTEST: Ju iI`e B rtell, City Clerk ATTACHMENT A CITY OF LINO LAKES SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 3-19 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 205 OF THE LINO LAKES CITY CODE The City Council of the City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota ordains: STATEMENT OF INTENT AND PURPOSE Chapter 205 was revised to strike language that exempts the Public Safety Director as a direct report to the City Administrator, which is at variance with the current organizational structure. Chapter 205 as amended will also exclude "temporary" employees from needing Council authorization for hiring purposes, provided a temporary position is included in the annual budget. Effective Date of Ordinance. This ordinance shall be effective 30 days after its publication. A full printed copy of the ordinance is available for review at the Lino Lakes City Hall, 600 Town Center Parkway.
