Sarner, Clerk -Treasurer City of Lino Lakes 1189 Main Street Lino Lakes, Minnesota 55014 Re: Frederick Hillyer Dear Mrs. Sarner: We note the above -named person has been reported as a member of the Public Employees Police and Fire Fund, and is shown as a part time police officer on duly signed Form 2, Personnel Report of New Employees. Under the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, Section 353.64, Subdivision 1 and 4, any employee serving on less than a full time basis as a police officer shall become a member of the Public Employees Police and Fire Fund, only after a resolution is adopted by the governing body of the employing governmental unit, declaring that the position such person holds is that of a police officer. A copy of such resolution showing appointment and duties of the person so employed must be filed with the PERA Board of Trustees and shall be irrevocable. If such resolution is not adopted, the part time police officer is required to become a member of the Coordinated Fund wtth Social Security coverage. Will you please let us know whether or not a resolution as just referred to has been adopted. If so, will you furnish our office with a copy. When we have details from you, we will be in a position to determine under which fund the employee in question will be enrolled. We will appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible so that this pending matter may be disposed of without delay. We attach a return envelope for your convenience in replying.
