HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-150 Council ResolutionCITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 20-150 AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPECS FOR HARD COURT FACILITY AT BIRCH STREET AND CENTERVILLE ROAD WHEREAS, The City Council has been considering constructing hard courts on the property adjacent to Fire Station #2 since 2018; and WHEREAS, The City Council previously designated $375,000 of General Fund Balance Reserves via Resolution 18-175. In addition, staff is recommending designating the Dedicated Parks Funding from Nadeau Acres in the amount of $107,100; and WHEREAS, The estimated schedule for the project is as follows: Authorize Preparation of Plans and Specifications Approve Plans and Specifications, Authorize Ad for Bids City Opens Bids City Council Awards Contract Construction Begins Final Completion December 14, 2020 March 8, 2021 April 7, 2021 April 12, 2021 April -May, 2021 July, 2021 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by The City Council of The City of Lino Lakes: That the City Council authorizes the Public Services Director to prepare the plans and specifications for the development of the hard court facility at Birch Street and Centerville Road Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 14th day of December, 2020. BACKGROUND The City Council has been considering constructing hard courts on the property adjacent to Fire Station #2 since 2018. The City Council previously designated $375,000 of General Fund Balance Reserves via Resolution 18-175. In addition, staff is recommending designating the Dedicated Parks Funding from Nadeau Acres in the amount of $107,100. Staff is confident we can coordinate efforts with WSB Engineering and value engineer the necessary site work, four pickleball courts, two tennis courts, and parking lot within the designated funding sources. The estimated schedule for the project: Authorize Preparation of Plans and Specifications Approve Plans and Specifications, Authorize Ad for Bids City Opens Bids City Council Awards Contract Construction Begins Final Completion RECOMMENDATION Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 20-150.
