HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-19-1977 Park Board Minutes PARK BOARD September, 1977 Minutes but no agenda or packet n September 19, 1977 The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park, Recreation and Environmental Commission was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Vice-Chairman Gredvig. Members present: Ringaman, Scherer, Liljedahl , Averbeck, Gredvig. Members absent: Olson, Resch. Mr. Schneider, Council liason was also present. Mr. Scherer moved to approve the August 15, 1977 minutes as presented. Mrs. Liljedahl seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Mr. Resch was not present to give his report. Mr. Schneider's Report Mr. Schneider stated he had scheduled a meeting at his house for September 21 , 1977 at 7:00 P.M. with some members of the Centennial Hockey Assn. and Mr. Volk. He invited Mr. Ringaman to attend to represent the Park Board. This meeting is to see what labor can be anticipated from the Hockey Assn. for construct- ion of a new hockey rink at Sunrise Park. After this decision is reached the Council will give final approval . The, money for the construction of the rink will come from the road fund. Mr. Schneider reported that the public hearing for the plat Rohavic Oaks was held Sept. 22, 1977 and money in lieu of land was requested from that plat. There is a sewer assessment of about $2,700.00 due on LaMotte Park. This will be paid before December 31 , 1977 to avoid any interest payment. Old Business Mr. Schneider stated that the 1978 budget is about 99% complete. Mr. Gredvig suggested that all signs in all parks be the same. Mr. Schneider said it was his understanding that they would be the same except at Lino Park the Lions may add something to the sign to let the public know the Lions are involved with the devel- opment of the park. Mr. Schneider will have more to report on this matter next month . There was no New Business or Other Reports. Mr. Schneider said he has had some contact with Blaine and there is the possibility that the City of Blaine will contribute something to maintain the hockey rink at Sunrise Park. Mr. Schneider said the meeting with Mr. Kronholm for this evening had been cancelled. Another meeting will be rescheduled. This meeting was to determine the Park land ded- ication for Country Lakes. Mr. Scherer moved to adjourn at 8:35 P.M. Mrs. Averbeck seconded the motion. Aye.
