1. Call to Order and Roll Call
(Meeting was called to order at 6:30pm. Present: Pat Huelman,Joe Boyle,
Chris Welsand, George Lindy,Pam Taschuk,Bill Kusterman, and Paul
Montain. Also present was Rick DeGardner, Public Services Director and
Sandie Wood, Office Manager.)
2. Approval of Minutes from April 3, 2000
(Paul Montain made a motion to approve the April 3, 2000 minutes. Seconded
by Chris Welsand and approved unanimously.)
3. Setting Agenda
(There were no additions or deletions to the agenda.)
4. Open Mike
(No one present for open mike.)
5. Congratulations and Welcome to new Park Board Member—Bill Kusterman
(On behalf of staff and the Park Board Rick welcomed Bill Kusterman to the
Park Board.)
6. Review Revised Preliminary Plat—Bluebill Ponds
(Paul Montain made a motion to take cash in lieu of land and pursue the purchase
of Outlot D in the Highland Meadows addition with the balance being used for
development of the park. Also, eliminate the proposed trails included in a motion at
the March 6, 2000 Park Board meeting. Joe Boyle seconded the motion and it
passed unanimously.)
7. Review Request to Include Elm Street Trail in Regional
Trail System Plan
(Paul Montain made a motion designating the Elm Street Trail as a Regional Trail
contingent upon review of the contract/agreement so it is mutually beneficial to the
s� City of Lino Lakes and Anoka County. Motion was seconded by Pam Taschuk and
approved.)
8. Review Park Shelter and Field Permit Application Form
(Pam Taschuk suggested that"No Smoking"verbiage be added to the agreement
for the Rice Lake Elementary School and Centennial Middle School Facilities.)
9. Parks and Trails Development Update
(Rick reviewed the update in the packet.)
10. Recreation Department Update
(Rick reviewed the update and answered member's questions.)

(Rick reviewed the update and answered member's questions.)
12. Old Business
(Paul Montain asked staff to look into the usage of the Scandia, Circle Pines, and
Lexington paved hockey rinks. He asked about the 49/Lake Drive to Co. Road J
trail. Paul noticed that there was a contractor doing some work south of H2 and
East of 35E. He asked staff to check on grading prices.)
13. New Business
A. Consider Renaming City Hall Park
(Rick reviewed the memo and the 1998 Park Naming Policy that was
included in the packets. Rick asked members to think about this issue and he
will put it on the agenda, for action, in a couple of months.)
B. Recreation Review in Quad Community Press
(Rick reviewed and answered member's questions.)
14.Next Park Board Meeting
(The next Park Board meeting will be Tuesday,July 11, 2000.)

7:30pm.)
