1. Call to Order and Roll Call
(Present: Joe Boyle, Paul Montain,Jeff Reinert,George Lindy, and Pat Huelman.
Absent: Pam Taschuk and Chris Welsand.)
2. Approval of Minutes from June 7, 1999
(Paul Montain made a motion to approve the June 7, 1999 minutes. Seconded
by Joe Boyle and passed unanimously.)
3. Setting Agenda
(Rick deleted item number 5 and replaced it with Review Park Dedication for
Highland Meadows East Subdivision. Rick added 11A. Wenzel Farms Trail
Clearing to item 11. New Business. George added 11B. Potential Joint meeting with
Hugo's Park Board,Anoka and Washington Counties.)
4. Open Mike
(There was no one present for Open Mike.)
5. Review Park Dedication for Highland Meadows East Subdivision
(Paul Montain made a motion, seconded by Jeff Reinert to accept$500 per lot for 5
lots in the Highland Meadows East Subdivision for a total of$2500. These fund
should be designated to the Highland Meadows Park Dedication fund. Motion
approved unanimously).
6. Consideration of Installing Playground Equipment—LaMotte Park
(Pat Huelman made a motion to have the letters from the Timmers and the
Franke become part of the record for this issue. Seconded by Paul Montain and
passed unanimously. Paul Montain suggested a survey be done to better get the
feelings of the residents in this neighborhood. The survey should reflect ages of the
children in the area.)
7. Development of Behm's Century Farm Park
(Paul Montain made a motion, seconded by Joe Boyle to proceed with the process to
bid for playground equipment and installation in the amount of$28,000. $7,000 to
cover the cost of site prep, wood fiber and borders will come from the Park
Dedication Fund. Motion was approved.)

8. Recreation Department Update
(Rick did highlights from the Recreation Department Update.)
9. Parks Department Update
(Rick did an overview of the Park Department Update.)
10. Old Business
(There was no old business.)
11. New Business
(11A. Wenzel Farms Trail Clearing—Over the 4th of July weekend approximately
six additional trees were blown over in this area. After discussion Paul Montain
made a motion to authorize the removal of the additional trees in Wenzel Farms,
not to exceed$2000. He also recommend that staff look at other options. Motion
was seconded by Pat Huelman with the motion passing unanimously.
11B. Potential Joint meeting with Hugo's Park Board,Anoka and Washington
Counties—George Lindy suggested the Lino Lakes Park Board meet with Hugo's
Park Board,Anoka County and Washington County to discuss developments that
overlap and trail issues. After discussion it was decided that George would work
with Kathy, from Hugo, to schedule a meeting on August 18, at a time and place to
be worked out. George will get back to Rick with details and staff will send out
a meeting notification.)
12. Next Park Board Meeting
(The next meeting will be held on Monday,August 2, 1999, 6:30pm.)
13. Adjourn
(Paul Montain made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Jeff Reinert. The meeting
was adjourned at 8:10pm.
