HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/09/1989 Park Board Packet PARK BOARD INFORMATIONAL MEETING MAY 9, 1989 The Lino Lakes Park Board met as scheduled, although there was not a quorum. Chairman Ray Johnson decided to hold an informational meeting because the applicant for Park View Estates was present . At 7 : 08 p. m. the meeting was called to order. Members present were: Chairman Ray Johnson, Ken Johnson , and Candy Toffoli. . Candy Toffoli was feeling ill and left at 7 : 40 . Also present were: Public Works Director, Don Volk; Councilman Harold Bisel ; and Secretary, Laura Elken . PRELIMINARY PLAT REVIEW - PARKVIEW ESTATES/KEITH EIBENSTEINER Keith Eibensteiner purchased two tracts of land located immediately east of Sunrise Park . He wishes to subdivide them for single-family residential development . This property is west of Sunrise Park. Mr. Eibensteiner stated that 44 homes are planned for this plat . Chairman Ray Johnson suggested a 15 foot easement be taken for a walkway to be installed so that residents living in this area could have easy access to the park . Also utilities could enter the park through this walkway. The Park Board felt the best spot for a 15 foot walking trail, would be between Lots 8 thru 12 in Block 2 . Also it is the consensus of the board to accept a cash park dedication. City Planner, John Miller will be asked to present this to the next Planning and Zoning Board meeting. GREATER CENTENNIAL AREA RECREATIONAL PROGRAM Don Volk stated that the attorney is still working on the joint powers of agreement . Don also felt staff should be hired the winter of 1989 so the recreational program can get off to a good start in the spring of 1990 . He felt it may be a few months before the city received final approval , and then the hiring process can get started. 10-N SUNRISE PARK/UTILITIES Estimates in cost still need to be received from our city Page 1 engineer. Don Volk stated he wants to use a composting method for the lavatories , and would recommend city water to be installed, but feels city sewer would not be necessary. Don will present the board with more information in the near future regarding the composting method of refuse. The board discussed where the best spot for utilities to enter into Sunrise Park. The board felt that between Lots 8 and 9 of Block 2 of Parkview Estates would be the best spot . Between these two lots is an open area. The further north you go, the more wooded it becomes . Don Volk will discuss this with the City Engineer. Erickson Park Don Volk stated that the city engineer was told by the developer to hold off excavating the ponding area. The developer assured the city he would bring the park up to grade, and Don Volk feels he will meet his agreement with the city. Meeting Adjourned 8: 05 p. m. Page 2
