Adjourn PARK BOARD MEETING AUGUST 8, 1988 The regular meeting of the Lino Lakes Park Board was called to order at 7: 00 p.m. , by Chairman Ray Johnson, Monday August 8, 1988 at the Lino Lakes City Hall . Members present : Chairman Ray Johnson, Candy Toffoli , Bob Williams, John Bauman, Bill Nissen and Ken Johnson. Also present were: City Administrator - Randy Schumacher, Secretary - Connie Husby. Members not present: George Lindy CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES: Chairman Ray Johnson approved the minutes as written. SECTION 31 - PROPOSED SUBDIVISION - PARK DEDICATION - RICH CARLSON: Rich brought his proposed plat located at County Road J and Hodgson Raod. He wants to produce executive single-family residential homes . The Park Board told Mr. Carlson they were looking for buildable land for ballfields . Mr. Carlson will bring something back for the Park Board to consider. RICE LAKE ESTATES PARK - ARV GEARMAN: The City Engineer - Ron Stahlberg recommended to the City Council denial of the double tennis courts . After discussion a motion was made. MOTION: Ken Johnson accepted item *12 in the Rice Lake Estates PUD - Lot 1 and Lot 2 of Block 2 shall be granted to the city for park purposes . Payment of $40, 000. 00 shall be made to the city for park development of lots 1 and 2 and adjacent property. Bob Williams seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. JEFF JOYER - PARK DEDICATION FOR TWILIGHT ACRES III . : Jeff has four buildable lots . The others will be developed when sewer and water come in . '-"" MOTION: Bill Nissen recommended to council to accept a park dedication of $400. 00 per building site for Twilight Acres III . Park dedication fees for the remaining lots will be page 1 1 PARK BOARD MEETING AUGUST 8, 1988 due upon completion of utility extension and shall be in the amount of the park dedication fee in effect at that time. John Bauman seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. GARY UHDE - FINAL PARK PLAN: Chairman Ray Johnson tabled this item due to Gary Uhde not being present because of family emergency. OLD BUSINESS : The Park Board discussed the Irrigation System being put in at Sunrise Park. They agreed this would be feasible to have done out of the Parks capital improvements $8, 000 . 00 . Bill Nissen recommended that in Country Lakes Park a sign be installed displaying symbols stating what ' s available in the park. MOTION: Nissen recommends that the City incorporate 5 symbols on the board that is already displayed at Country Lakes Park. They should be: 1 . Picnic Table 2. Fishing Pear 3 . Walking 4. Beach 5 . Walk-in boat landing Bob Bauman seconded the motion and the motion was carried unanimously. Also, the Park Board wants a No Parking sign installed where the people walk at the park. NEW BUSINESS: The Park Board would like Mike Hoffman our City Forester to look into our parks and report whether there is disease in our trees . Also the secretary is to ask Mike Hoffman about his recommendations regarding a Tree Board. Does he think the City should have one? 1988 OPINION SURVEY DISCUSSION: page 2 PARK BOARD MEETING AUGUST 8, 1988 The Park Board wants to work more with Anoka County. The county could add trail systems through the regional park and the Park Board could add their own trails to become a mutual trail system. Discussion regarding the survey: * Interest in recreation programs The Park Board can work with this . * Bicycle, Walking, Jogging are great but we need decent ballfields too * Looking at connecting trail. systems The Park Board directed the Secretary to write Dave Torkildson - Anoka County Parks and Margaret Langfeld - County Commissioner and send them out copies of the survey. Inform them of the Park Boards concerns regarding a mutual trail system to tie in with the Park Boards . The meeting adjourned at 8: 45 p.m. page 3
