ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT A) Consider Approval of Special Event Permit for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Bike MS 150 Action Taken: Motion by Cavegn, seconded by Lyden, to approve the special event permit with conditions established by the Public Safety Division, was adopted. ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT REPORT A) Consider Approval of Special Event Permit for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Bike MS 150 UNFINISHED BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS None Adjournment CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM 1A STAFF ORIGINATOR: Lisa Hogstad-Osterhues, Deputy Clerk City MEETING DATE: June 7, 2021 Consider Approval of a Special Event Permit for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Bike MS 159. VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 INTRODUCTION Jamie Blood of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has submitted a Special Event Permit for a Bike MS 150 to raise funds for the Society. BACKGROUND Ms. Blood has submitted an application for a one-day bike ride event with a 23 mile and a 75 mile bike route with the start and finish of the event at the National Sports Center in Blaine. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society has submitted a certificate of liability insurance to cover the above event and on file in the office of the deputy clerk. The proper fees have been paid for this permit. The Public Safety Department has reviewed the application and has been working with the event planner, Anoka County Highway Department as well as the city engineer. MS 150 has agreed to pay for overtime costs associated with Public Safety traffic control. At this time, staff is still working through logistics and will provide an update at the council meeting on Monday, June 7. The understanding is that the applicant will continue to follow their instructions on safety. The applicant must have in place all necessary permissions for use of property involved in the event if private. ATTACHMENTS Route Map to Follow on Monday
