10 Staff members present: City Administrator Sarah Cotton; Deputy Director Public Safety
11 Director of Police Kyle Leibel; City Clerk Julie Bartell
12 1. Review Regular Agenda of March 28,2022-
13 4A) Accept Gift Cards—Deputy Director Leibel reviewed the written request. The
14 gift cards come to the Department and they like to utilize them in ways that benefit the
15 community and recognize good work. Sometimes people want to recognize or gift
16 individual officers and Director Leibel explained that they are given information about
17 the"pay it forward"program.

19 Councilmember Lyden asked how the department shows gratitude for these donations.

21 Administrator Cotton noted that Deputy Director Leibel was the person who created the
22 Pay It Forward program; she is thankful for that effort and for his leadership. Deputy
23 Director Leibel explained that he supports shedding light on the positive side of policing
24 and how much officers are really there because they want to serve and support the
25 community; he wants the department to be a better one from his service.
26 4B) Accept Canine Equipment—Deputy Director Leibel explained that a group is
27 interested in donating certain items that relate to canine services. The group intends to
28 present them at their May meeting.

30 Councilmember Ruhland asked if the council could get a demonstration(of the donated
31 items) and also invite members of the group who donated the equipment. Deputy
32 Director Leibel said absolutely—sometime in May would be appropriate.

34 The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
