CENTERVILLE POLICE SERVICES CONTRACT SEQUENCE OF EVENTS 1991-1992 POLICE SERVICES CONTRACT (CENTERVILLE) 1. January 26, 1990 - Letter from RBS to Centerville requesting a letter of the level of service desired for the upcoming contract. 2 . April 25, 1990 - Letter to RBS from Centerville stating disappointment with 1990 contract, however happy with performance and level of service - They hope for the same level of service but would like input into the police budget. Wants minor language changes and a 3 year (minimum contract) 3 . May 1, 1990 - Previous letter makes the Quad Press 4. July 17, 1990 - Chief Campbell responds to a request by RBS for # of calls in Centerville. This info had been passed on to Centerville earlier. 5. July 23, 1990 - Chief Campbell forwards to RBS figures for 1991 - 1992 Police Services Contract. 6. August 14, 1990 - RBS forwards to Centerville a contract for 1991-1992 with a price tag of $119,766.00. 7 . August 23, 1990 - Centerville requests a meeting with Lino Lakes to discuss the proposal. 8 . August 29, 1990 - RBS conversation with Joe Pelton. Centerville can't afford, but like the service and want to work out a contract. 9. Sept. 5, 1990 - Lino Lakes holds a work session to the contract. Council authorizes RBS to discuss option with Centerville and work out an agreement which is mutually beneficial. sequence Page -2- 9. Sept. 13, 1990 - Letter from Centerville to RBS stating that the $ figure was too high, and responded that they want a contract figure not to exceed $65, 000.00 10. Sept. 17, 1990 - RBS forwards a letter to Centerville giving them a second option with limited services for $104, 000. 00. 11. Oct. 5, 1990 - Lino Lakes and Centerville meet in mediation to resolve impass. 12 . Oct. 5, 1990 - RBS writes a memo outlining the impact of the loss of the contract to the City Council. 13 . Oct. 8, 1990 - Lino Lakes hold a work session to discuss the contract. Lino Lakes comes down to a figure of $106, 000. 00 for full services with increases of 5% and cost of living for the following 2 years. Limited service was also offered for $104, 000. 00. 14 . Oct. 17, 1990 - Centerville holds special meeting and entertains a bid from Circle-Lex for $105,000.00.
