RESOLUTION NO. 22-135
APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR A SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT
FOR THE CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK EVENT ON DECEMBER 10,2022
WHEREAS,Nancy Johnson, Centerville Lions, has submitted an application for a special event
permit; and
WHEREAS, most of the event will be held in the City of Centerville but a horse drawn trailer is
proposed to proceed on LaMotte Drive in Lino Lakes; and
WHEREAS, applicant will ensure that event is compliant with City Ordinance 901.03 (4a)Public
Nuisances Affecting Peace and Safety; and
WHEREAS, the Public Safety Department has reviewed the application and event plans;
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes,
Minnesota:
That the City Council authorizes issuance of a Special Event Permit to Nancy Johnson
representing the Centerville Lions for an event on December 10, 2022..
Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 14'h day of November, 2022.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Councilmember
Ruhland and was duly seconded by Councilmember Cavegnand upon vote being taken thereon,
the following voted in favor thereof. Ruhland, Cavegn, Stoesz, Rafferty
The following voted against same: None (Absent- Lyden)

for a Special Permit for the Centerville Lions
Christmas in the Park Event
VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority(3/5 Vote Required)
BACKGROUND:
Nancy Johnson of the Centerville Lions has applied for a Special Event Permit related to
the groups upcoming Christmas in the Park event on December 10, 2022. Most of the
event will be held at LaMotte Park in Centerville but the group proposes to have a horse
drawn trailer procession on LaMotte Drive in Lino Lakes.
The application has been reviewed by staff, including the Public Safety Department and
no public safety concerns have been identified.
Therefore, staff is presenting for city council consideration of a resolution authorizing the
issuance of a Special Event Permit to the Centerville Lions for the event.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Resolution No. 22-135 authorizing issuance of a Special Event Permit to
Centerville Lions, Christmas in the Park
