1. School Resource Contract
Public Safety Director John Swenson thanked Council for allowing the addition of this
last-minute item to both the work session and the meeting agendas. He informed
Council that there are rapid changes to School Resource Officer (SRO) programs
statewide due to recent law changes at the state level. As such, Lino Lakes Public Safety
is seeking authorization to suspend or terminate the contract with Centennial School
District for SCRO services as the new law changes the ability of SRO's to work safely in
the schools. He added that school safety will remain a priority of Public Safety. He will
be requesting Council approval to authorize staff the ability to suspend or terminate the
contract.
2. Review Regular Agenda
Mayor Rafferty reviewed the agenda for the Regular Meeting. Staff provided brief
comments highlighting information contained within staff reports.
The Council Work Session ended at 6:28 PM.
These minutes were considered and approved at the regular Council Meeting on September 11,
2023.
