RESOLUTION NO.25-63
AUTHORIZING WATERSHED BASED IMPLEMENTATION FUNDING GRANT
AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes partnered with Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) to
identify potential water quality improvements to reduce volume and sediment/nutrient loading
to Rice Lake in 2022.
WHEREAS, a feasibility study was completed for potential improvements to Shenandoah Park
and completed in December of 2022. The Environmental Board reviewed the study at their
January 25, 2023. It was recommended to pursue grant funding for future phases of the
potential project.
WHEREAS, the Board of Soil and Water Resources is offering a Watershed Based
Implementation Funding Grant Program. The grant program allocates funding for projects
within specific watershed areas to implement water quality improvements.
WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes was awarded $52,650 to be used for final design
of plans and specifications for the proposed Shenandoah Park Improvements Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes:
That the Board of Soil and Water Resources Watershed Based Implementation Funding
Grant is accepted, and hereby authorizes the Mayor and Clerk to execute the agreement on
behalf of the City.
Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 27th day of May, 2025.
