Re: Work Session Item 3 — Lakeview Drive Utility Extension
Background
The City has verified a petition (attached) from the Lakeview Drive residents requesting
the extension of City utilities along Lakeview Drive. This petition resulted in 42%
support of the project. Attached is a map of the Lakeview Drive area, which shows lots
that signed the petition.
The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services has installed a sanitary sewer
interceptor line and Circle Pines has installed watermain in North Road at the south end
of this area. Lino Lakes installed both sanitary sewer and watermain in Elm Street with
the Street Reconstruction Project.
The area of the petition is defined as Low Density Unsewered Residential. It is in the
Stage 1 Growth Area, however, it is outside of the MUSA boundary.
Requested Council Direction
Staff is requesting direction from the City Council as to the next step that staff should
take in response to the utility extension.

Re: Joint Council/Charter Commission Meeting
Background
The Council has previously been notified that the Charter Commission has requested a
joint meeting with the Council on August 4, 2005. This would constitute a special
meeting of the City Council. Therefore, the Council needs to confirm that they will be
holding a special council meeting in order for staff to provide proper legal notice of the
meeting, including the purpose of the special meeting.
Requested Council Direction
Staff is seeking confirmation that the Council is calling for a special meeting on August
4, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. and clarification of the purpose of the meeting for notice purposes.
