CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />RESOLUTION NO. 26-08 <br />APPROVING WATER CONSERVATION GRANT REBATE PROGRAM <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has been promoting water conservation efforts, partially <br />through implementation of a smart irrigation controller program that began in 2021; and <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council offers a Water Efficiency Grant under the Legacy <br />Amendment Clean Water Fund for use in municipal water efficiency programs to offer rebates <br />or grants to customers of the municipal water supply system to replace specified water using <br />devices with approved devices that use substantially less water; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes was awarded $22,000 to be used by June 30, 2026 for eligible <br />water efficiency devices, such as US EPA WaterSense labelled smart irrigation controllers; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is looking to expand the grant program by adding eligible items and by <br />creating a rebate program to promote additional water conservation practices, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes: <br />That the Water Conservation Rebate Program is approved, and directs staff to develop the <br />necessary policies and procedures to provide the rebate. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 12th day of January 2026. <br />-I.
