PLANNING & ZONING BOARD MINUTES
I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL:
Chair Tralle called the Lino Lakes Planning and Zon ing Board meeting to order at 6:30
p.m. on May 12, 2010.
II. APROVAL OF AGENDA
The Agenda was approved as presented.
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
April 14, 2010 – Planning & Zoning Board Meeting
Mr. Laden made a MOTION to approve the April 14, 20 10 Planning & Zoning Board
Meeting Minutes. Motion was supported by Mr. Hyden . Motion carried 4 - 0.
April 14, 2010 – Joint City Council and Planning & Zoning Board Meeting
Mr. Laden made a MOTION to approve the April 14, 20 10 Joint City Council and
Planning and Zoning Board Meeting Minutes. Motion was supported by Mr. Hyden.
Motion carried 4 - 0.
IV. OPEN MIKE
Chair Tralle declared Open Mike at 6:32 p.m.
There was no one present for Open Mike.

Mr. Nelson made a MOTION to close Open Mike at 6:33 p.m. Motion was supported by
Mr. Laden. Motion carried 4 - 0.
V. ACTION ITEMS
A. PUBLIC HEARING to consider Amending the Zoning Ordi nance to modify the
requirements for Accessory Buildings and Structures .
Associate Planner, Paul Bengtson, presented the sta ff report.
Mr. Pogalz arrived at 6:38 p.m.
Staff recommended approval of the Zoning Ordinance amendment.
Staff further explained the reasoning behind the ma thematical calculations included in the
proposed ordinance.
Chair Tralle opened the Public Hearing at 6:59 p.m.
No one was present to speak on the item.
Mr. Hyden made a MOTION to close the Public Hearing at 7:00 p.m. Motion was
supported by Mr. Pogalz. Motion passed 4-0.
Mr. Hyden made a MOTION to recommend approval of Am ending the Zoning
Ordinance to modify the requirements for Accessory Buildings and Structures. Motion
was supported by Mr. Nelson. Motion passed 4-0.
B. PUBLIC HEARING to consider Amending the Zoning Ordi nance and the
subdivision chapter of the City Code regarding deve lopment in
environmentally sensitive areas, tree preservation, landscaping, planned unit
developments, and platting.
City Planner, Jeff Smyser, presented the staff repo rt.
Staff recommended that the board open the public he aring, discuss proposed
amendments, and continue the public hearing to June 9.
Chair Tralle opened the Public Hearing at 7:12 p.m.
Ciara Schlichting, Bonestroo, presented an overview of the draft ordinance language.
Katherine Lamers, Bonestroo, Landscape Architect, w as present for questions.
Mr. Pogalz made a MOTION to recommend continuation of the Public Hearing to the
June 9, 2010 Planning & Zoning Board Meeting. Moti on was supported by Mr. Hyden.
Motion passed 4-0.

Mr. Pogalz made a MOTION to adjourn the meeting at 8:13 p.m. Motion was supported
