Lino Lakes City Council <br />Work Session <br />Minutes <br />DATE: <br />May 26, 2026 <br />TIME STARTED: <br />6:00 P.M. <br />TIME ENDED: <br />6:27 P.M. <br />LOCATION: <br />Community Room <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Acting Mayor Ruhland, Councilmembers Lyden, Nelson and Rennaker <br />EXCUSED ABSENT: <br />Mayor Rafferty <br />Staff Members Present: City Administrator Karen Anderson, City Clerk Roberta Colotti, Community <br />Development Director Mike Grochala, City Engineer Diane Hankee and Chief of Police Curt Boehme. <br />1. Call to Order and Roll Call <br />Acting Mayor Ruhland called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br />Setting the Agenda: Addition or Deletion of Agenda Items <br />The agenda was adopted as presented. <br />3. Review Regular Agenda <br />The City Council reviewed the regular agenda for this evening. <br />4. City Administrator Update <br />The City Administrator reported that there are two employee engagement events planned for <br />this year, one in the summer and one in the fall. Past practice has been to close city hall during <br />the event times, and she requested authorization to close city hall during the 2026 event times. <br />uncil Consensus <br />It was the consensus of the City Council to close city hall during the two employee engagement <br />events planned for 2026. <br />Councilmember Nelson asked about the City's position on data centers, given the recent news <br />coverage of the development of data centers across Minnesota. <br />The Community Development Director stated that within our zoning districts, the area along 35E <br />is designated as a tech center area. <br />5.
