RESOLUTION NO. 26-110
APPROVING WATER CONSERVATION GRANT AGREEMENT WITH
METROPOLITIAN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has been promoting water conservation efforts, partially
through implementation of a smart irrigation controller program that began in 2021; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council offers a Water Efficiency Grant under the Legacy
Amendment Clean Water Fund for use in municipal water efficiency programs to offer rebates
or grants to customers of the municipal water supply system to replace specified water using
devices with approved devices that use substantially less water; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes was selected as part of the Clean Water Fund Grant and
awarded $21,000 to be used by June 30, 2028 for eligible water efficiency devices, such as US
EPA WaterSense labelled smart irrigation controllers, dishwashers, washing machines, toilets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes:
That the City enter into a grant agreement with the Metropolitan Council, and directs staff to
coordinate the water conservation rebate program and reimbursement process.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 8th day of June 2026.
