HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-01-2002 Park Board Minutes CITY OF LINO LAKES PARK BOARD MEETING Monday, July 1, 2002 ***MINUTES*** 1. Call to Order and Roll Call (Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm. Members Present: George Lindy, Michael O’Connor, Katie Boyle, Pat Huelman, Paul Montain, a nd Bill Kusterman. Members Absent: Pam Tashuk. Also present: Rick De Gardner, Public Services Director and Stephanie Kopp, Intern.) 2. Approval of Minutes from May 6, 2002 (Paul Montain made a motion to approve the May 6, 2002 minutes. Michael O’Connor seconded the motion and the minutes were a pproved.) 3. Setting Agenda (There were no additions or deletions.) 4. Open Mike a. June 10, 2002 Letter from Mr. Art Hawkins (Determined that it was not practical to proceed w ith proposed trail due to financial constraints and that affected landowners not aware of proposal.) b. Request to Convert All Playground Areas to Wood Fib er (Determined that not financially feasible, and wil l continue to use wood fiber for future playgrounds.) 5. Establish 5 Year CIP (Several suggestions were made such as including e stimated commercial/industrial revenue, reduce proportion of cash to land to 50%-5 0%, Do not identify specific projects but attach summary of possible park and tr ail improvements. Actual projects will be determined based on needs and oppo rtunities.) 6. Discuss Concession Permit Requests (Staff will research issue further and report back this fall. Several members want to consider options such as receiving percentage of th e profits, exclusive agreements, etc.) 7. Recreation Update – May and June (Rick reviewed update and answered questions.) 8. Park Update – May and June (Rick reviewed update and answered questions.)
