Re: Adjustments to the 2009 Adopted Budget
As you are well aware, economic conditions and projected shortfalls in the State's
biennial budget are expected to have a significant impact on the City's budget for 2009.
Staff has examined some of the potential revenue shortfalls that may occur due to actions
that may be taken during this legislative session and other economic factors. We have
also explored potential savings in expenditures that may be realized due to personnel
attrition and reallocation of levy dollars.
Attached is a listing of proposed budget adjustments for conditions that are known today.
Staff is forwarding these to you for your consideration in managing the potential budget
shortfalls. We will continue to monitor conditions as they may unfold and report back to
you periodically.
