SPECIAL JOINT COUNCIL MEETING <br />APPROVED <br />May 19, 2014 <br />CITY OF LINO LAKES <br />MINUTES <br />SPECIAL JOINT SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, <br />PARK BOARD, ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD, PLANNING & ZONING BOARD <br />& ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMETTEE <br />DATE <br />TIME STARTED <br />TIME ENDED <br />COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT <br />: May 19, 2014 <br />. 6:30 p.m. <br />. 8:28 p.m. <br />: Council Members Roeser, Rafferty, <br />Stoesz and Mayor Reinert <br />PLANNING AND ZONING PRESENT : Evans, Evenson, Hyden, Laden, Masonick, <br />Root and Tralle <br />ENVIRONMENTAL BOARD PRESENT : Andrzejewski, DeHaven, Heiskary, <br />McDonnell, Morin <br />PARK BOARD PRESENT <br />EDAC PRESENT <br />: Heulman, Jensen, Levi, Lindy <br />: Glewwe, Johnson, Masonick, Vojtech, <br />Wier <br />Staff members present: Community Development Director Michael Grochala; Environmental <br />Coordinator Marty Asleson; Public Services Director Rick DeGardner; City Clerk Julie <br />Bartell <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Reinert thanked everyone for coming to the meeting and asked all City Board Member's <br />to introduce themselves. <br />DISCUSSION OF COUNCIL INITIATIVES <br />Community Development Director Grochala provided a review of projects currently underway <br />in the city, including: <br />Charter Amendments — The council has forwarded two amendments to Section 8 (Public <br />Improvements and Special Assessments) to the Charter Commission and is awaiting their <br />action; there will probably be an amendment on the ballot this fall; <br />Street Reconstruction Plan — The city will be considering establishment of a plan for a <br />street reconstruction program and bond fmancing as allowed under state statute; <br />- 109th and Apollo — A realignment of the roadway is being considered as a joint project with <br />Blaine and Anoka County; <br />- Lake Drive Improvements - Improvements to the surface of the roadway in Circle Pines will <br />be done; <br />1 <br />
