CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO 09 -93
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS FOR THE LINO LAKES PARKS AND
RECREATION DEPARTMENT'S ANNUAL GOBBLER GAMES SPECIAL EVENT
WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department is holding this annual holiday
event on Saturday, November 14, 2009; and
WHEREAS, The event is a free holiday event for the families of Lino Lakes; and
WHEREAS, Participant teams, consisting of one child (ages 4 -14) and one adult, will compete
in a variety of low -key athletic events for prizes; and
WHEREAS, The following organizations were made aware of the desire of the Lino Lakes
Parks and Recreation Department to conduct the Gobbler Games with the support of program
sponsors and have donated the following to the City to defer the costs of this event:
Lino Lakes Lions Club $400
Patriot Bank $300
Circle -Lex Lions Club $150
Forest Lake Area Athletic Association $100
Lino Lakes McDonalds Juice and cups
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes
hereby accepts the donations to help fund the Family Turkey Shoot event and wishes to express
its sincere gratitude and appreciation to these organizations for their donations.

Gallup and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof: O'Donnell, Gallup, Reinert, Bergeson

Donations for the Gobbler Games Special Event
VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority
BACKGROUND:
The Lino Lakes Parks and Recreation Department sought program sponsors for its
annual Gobbler Games (formerly Family Turkey Shoot) Special Event to be held on
Saturday, November 14, 2009. This popular event, held annually since 1998, is a free
holiday event for the families of Lino Lakes that consists of low -key competition in a
variety of events including baseball throw, frisbee toss, floor hockey shoot, football
throw, basketball free throw and beanbag toss. Other event attractions include a giant
inflatable arch bounce, removable tattoos and turkey coloring sheets.
The following organizations have generously donated funds to help defer the costs of
this event:
Lino Lakes Lions Club $400
Patriot Bank $300
Circle -Lex Lions Club. $150
Forest Lake Area Athletic Association $100
Lino Lakes McDonalds Juice and cups
Please find attached Resolution No. 09 -93 for your consideration.
