TOPIC: Resolution No 10 -54, Accepting a donation from
Minnesota Metro North Tourism for Blue Heron Days
VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5
BACKGROUND
Lino Lakes has been a member of the 9 -city Minnesota Metro North Tourism since
January 2010. The Board of Directors of MMNT voted to provide each member city in
2010, upon request of the official committee, a $2,000 donation to be used for the
city's annual festival. The Lino Lakes Lions Club has been acting in that capacity for
the past two years and submitted a request. The donation comes to the city to be
passed on to the official committee. The Lions will use some of the funds for a
refurbishing of the city's float. The float was built approximately 7 years ago, has
appeared since then in approximately 70 parades around the metro area, has won
numerous awards, and was in need of repairs. Remaining funds will be used for
advertising and expansion of family oriented festival events.
