Home My WebLink About2010-055 Council Resolution• Council Member Gallup adoption: WHEREAS, WHEREAS, introduced the following resolution and moved its COUNTY OF ANOKA CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 10 -55 APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR AUGUST 10, 2010 PRIMARY & NOVEMBER 2, 2010 GENERAL ELECTION the Lino Lakes City Council met at its regularly scheduled meeting of June 28, 2010; and pursuant to Minnesota Statute 204B.21, Subd. 2, election judges and a head election judge for each precinct shall be appointed by the governing body of the municipality; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statute 204B.21, Subd. 1, a list of eligible voters was prepared. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the named persons on the attached list of eligible voters are hereby appointed to serve as election judges and head election judges for the 2010 Primary Election and the 2010 General Election if called upon to do so. Lino Lakes MN 55014 • • • AGENDA ITEM 1F STAFF ORIGNINATOR: Jean Viger, Deputy Clerk MEETING DATE: June 28, 2010 TOPIC: Resolution 10 -55, Election Judge Approval VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) BACKGROUND: Attached is a list of Minnesota residents who will be trained to serve as Lino Lakes Election Judges for the 2010 Primary Election on Tuesday, August 10 and /or the General Election on Tuesday, November 2. After City Council approval, the applicants will be selected and assigned to a precinct. Every two years Anoka County Office of Elections and Registration conducts training sessions in a manner provided by the Secretary of State. This year the training sessions are scheduled for July 29 for the elections judges working the primary and/or the general election and October 14 & 15 for the election judges working only the general election. A applicant that is not able to attend the City's scheduled training sessions will attend training at a different location. OPTIONS: 1. Adopt Resolution 10 -55, accepting the attached list of prospective election judges. 2. Reject list RECOMMENDATION: 1. Adopt Resolution 10 -55
