HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-105 Council Resolution• Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES COUNTY OF ANOKA RESOLUTION NO. 10 -105 RESOLUTION APPROVING PEDDLERS LICENSE WHEREAS, Blackstone Consulting, Inc., has submitted a peddlers license application to the city clerk's office; and WHEREAS, Blackstone Consulting, Inc. has complied with all of the provisions of Chapter 613 of the Lino Lakes City Code for obtaining the necessary license for a for - profit business; and WHEREAS, the Lino Lakes Police Department has conducted a background check on the company representatives that would be working in Lino Lakes; NOW, THEREFORE, by order of the Lino Lakes City Council, Matthew Sobota and Lisa Ekrem, representatives of Blackstone Consulting, Inc., are hereby authorized to do door -to -door sales for a period of six - months beginning November 23, 2010 and ending May 23, 2011, subject to all conditions and provisions of the Lino Lakes City Code. Passed by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 22nd day of November, 2010. VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote) BACKGROUND: Blackstone Consulting, Inc., a company located in Minnetonka, Minnesota, has submitted a peddler's license application to the city clerk's office. The company representatives who would be working in Lino Lakes, Matthew Sobota and Lisa Ekrem, plan to travel through the Lino Lakes' neighborhoods offering Direct TV and Qwest services on a door to door basis. The City has received all the necessary forms required to issue this company a license. The Lino Lakes Police Department has performed a background check and indicates there is no reason to recommend denial of the license. The application, license fee and all required information is on file in the city clerk's office for review. OPTIONS: 1. Approve Resolution No. 10 -105 approving the issuance of a Peddler License for a six month period commencing November 23, 2010. 2. Deny Resolution No. 10 -105.
