COUNTY OF ANOKA
RESOLUTION NO. 08 -02
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING
FARMLAND LEASE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes owns property located at the southeast corner of
Centerville Road and Birch Street that is suitable for farming; and
WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes prepared and advertised a lease agreement to farm
the land mentioned above; and
WHEREAS, The lease agreement is for a term of three years, beginning January 1, 2008
and proof of insurance is required prior to any work being done on the property; and
WHEREAS, Bids were received and publicly opened on December 20, 2007 at 10:OOam.
in the City Council Chambers as follows:
Cardinal Brothers $9,000 ($3,000 annually for three years)
Mr. Paul Montain $10,500 ($3,500 annually for three years)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lino Lakes City Council hereby
awards the Farmland Lease Agreement to Mr. Paul Montain and directs the city clerk to
prepare the Farmland Lease Agreement for execution.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 14th day of January, 2008.

The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by
Council Member Gallup and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted
in favor thereof: Stoltz, Gallup, Bergeson
The following voted against same: None (Absent- Reinert, O'Donnell)
Whereupon said resolution was declared culy passed and adopted.

TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 08 -02, Accepting
Bids and Awarding Farmland Lease Agreement
VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority
BACKGROUND:
Bids were received and publicly opened on December 20, 2007 at 10:00 am in the City
Council Chambers. The lease agreement is for a term of three years, beginning
January 1, 2008. Terms of the lease agreement indicated that rent will be paid in three
equal installments on March 1 of each year. Proof of insurance will be required prior to
any work being done on the property. Two bids were received as outlined below:
Cardinal Brothers
Mr. Paul Montain
$9,000 ($3,000 annually for three years)
$10,500 ($3,500 annually for three years)
Staff recommends that the City Council award the Farmland Lease Agreement to Mr.
Paul Montain.
OPTIONS:
1. Award bid to Mr. Montain and direct the city clerk to prepare the Farmland
Lease Agreement for execution.
2. Return to staff for further review.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option 1.
