HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-041 Council ResolutionCouncil Member Gallup introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 08-41 RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE LINO LAKES CITY COUNCIL CODE OF CONDUCT Whereas, the City Council has the authority to adopt guidelines for its members and finds the need to do so in order to more efficiently and effectively develop and carry out the mission, vision, goals and established policies of the City; and Whereas, the City Council adopted an updated code of conduct on April 10, 2006; and Whereas, said code calls for the Council to adopt by resolution a code of conduct following the election of a new council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF • THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA: That the Lino Lakes City Council Code of Conduct (Exhibit A) is hereby adopted. Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 14th day of April, 2008. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Membero'Donnelland upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favqr thereof: Gallup, 0 Donnell, Reinert, Stoltz, Bergeson The following voted against same: None • • • • AGENDA ITEM 3B STAFF ORIGINATOR: Gordon Heitke, City Administrator MEETING DATE: April 14, 2008 TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 08 -41 Adopting the Lino Lakes City Council Code of Conduct VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 BACKGROUND The City Council of Lino Lakes first adopted guidelines for how the City Council operates in 1999. In 2003, the City Council adopted a more comprehensive set of guidelines entitled "Council Ethical Guidelines ". On April 10, 2006, the council adopted its current Code of Conduct. The Council's current Code of Conduct calls for adoption of the code following each election. Staff has received no indication that the council desires an amendment to the existing code.
