HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-100 Council Resolution• • • Council Member Reinert introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 08 -100 RESOLUTION APPROVING A SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 12 -08 FOR PUBLICATION WHEREAS, the City Council has approved first and second reading of Ordinance No. 12 -08, amending the City Code by updating the City's regulations regarding criminal history background for applicants for City employment and City licenses; and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 12 -08 is lengthy and MN Statute 412.191 provides for a city to publish a summary of an ordinance, and WHEREAS, the City Council determines that the summary clearly informs the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance, and WHEREAS, the publication in the official newspaper will include a notice that a full printed copy of the ordinance is available at City Hall, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council approves the summary in Attachment A for publication according to state law and the City Charter. Passed by the Lino Lakes City Council this 8th day of September 2008. ATTI artell, City •lerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member 6povimil and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: F?e)vt o►t, D'Vavmett , aa U cs v) The following voted against same: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. • • ATTACHMENT A, RESOLUTION 08 -100 CITY OF LINO LAKES COUNTY OF ANOKA SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 12 -08 AN ORDINANCE relating to criminal history background for applicants for City employment and City licenses. Section 207.08 of the Lino Lakes City Code is repealed and replaced with a new Section 207.08 containing the following provisions: a) Establishes purpose and intent of City regulations for employment and license background checks; b) Authorizes the Lino Lakes Police Department to perform employment and license background investigations through the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension with legal consent from the applicant; establishes rejection criteria and rejection notification process; Passed by the Lino Lakes City Council on September 8, 2008. This is a summary of the adopted ordinance. A full printed copy of the ordinance is available at City Hall.
