RESOLUTION NO. 11 -10
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE LINO LAKES POLICE DEPARTMENT TO ENTER
INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE HIGH ENFORCEMENT OF
AGGRESSIVE TRAFFIC (HEAT) PROJECT.
Resolved by the City Council of The City of Lino Lakes:
That the Lino Lakes Police Department is authorized to enter into a grant
agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, for
the High Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (HEAT) project during the period from
October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2011.

Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 24th day of January, 2011.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council
MemberRoeser and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof:
Gallup, Roeser, Rafferty, O'Donnell, Reinert
The following voted against same:
none
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

Approving Resolution No. 11 -10, authorizing the
Lino Lakes Police Department to
participate in the Highway Enforcement of
Aggressive Traffic (HEAT) Project
Simple Majority
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety will be sponsoring Highway Enforcement
of Aggressive Traffic (HEAT) projects from October 1, 2010 through September 30,
2011. During these enforcement projects officers from agencies with jurisdictions that
include the 35E / 35W Interstate work shifts to enforce the laws associated with
aggressive driving on the freeway. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety
reimburses the participating agencies for the officer's time while working these
projects. The goal of the project is to reduce accidents, injuries and deaths.
OPTIONS
1. Approve Resolution No. 11 -10, authorizing the Lino Lakes Police Department
to participate in the Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (HEAT) Project
2. Return to staff for further consideration.
