HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-020 Council ResolutionCouncil Member Gallup introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES COUNTY OF ANOKA RESOLUTION NO. 11 -20 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING FARMLAND LEASE AGREEMENT WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes owns property located at the southeast corner of Centerville Road and Birch Street that is suitable for farming; and WHEREAS, The City of Lino Lakes prepared and advertised a lease agreement to farm the land mentioned above; and WHEREAS, This lease agreement is for an initial term of three years and can be extended by mutual consent of both parties; and WHEREAS, Bids were received and publicly opened on February 3, 2011 at 10:OOam. in the City Council Chambers as follows: Jim Cardinal Gordon Rehbein Farms $1,900 per year $1,800 per year NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lino Lakes City Council hereby awards the Farmland Lease Agreement to Mr. Jim Cardinal and directs the City Clerk to prepare the Farmland Lease Agreement for execution. This lease agreement is for an initial term of three years and can be extended by mutual consent of both parties. Provisions of the lease agreement include that annual payments must be submitted by March 1st of each year and this agreement only pertains to farming operations. Two bids were received as outlined below: Jim Cardinal $1,900 per year Gordon Rehbein Farms $1,800 per year Staff recommends that the City Council award the Farmland Lease Agreement to Mr. Jim Cardinal. OPTIONS: 1. Award bid to Mr. Cardinal and direct the City Clerk to prepare the Farmland Lease Agreement for execution. 2. Return to staff for further review. RECOMMENDATION: Option 1. •
