RESOLUTION NO. 05 - 32
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS - 2005 SEALCOAT PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared plans and specifications for 2005 Sealcoating
Project and has presented such plans and specifications to the Council for approval;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO
LAKES, MINNESOTA:
1.
Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is attached hereto and made part hereof, are
hereby approved.
2. The City clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper and in the
Construction Bulletin an advertisement for bids for the making of such improvement under
such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement shall be published for 3 weeks,
shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids will be received by the Clerk, at which
time they will be publicly opened in the City Hall by the City Clerk and Engineer, will then be
tabulated, and will be considered by the Council, in the Council Chambers of the City Hall.
Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given
an opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be
considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit,
cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the Clerk for five (5) percent of the
amount of such bid.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 14th day of March, 2005.

TOPIC: Resolution No. 05 - 32, Approving Plans and Specifications and
Authorizing Advertisement for Bids, 2005 Sealcoat Project
Vote Required: Simple Majority
BACKGROUND:
Each year the City maintains its streets by sealcoating. Sealcoating places a
thin layer of oil and rock on the street to enhance the surface and prolong the
useful life of the street. Candidate streets were selected based on
recommendations from the Pavement Management Report, Public Works input,
and feasibility of locations. This year, approximately 5 miles of streets will be
sealcoated at an estimated total project cost of $75,750.00.
City staff has prepared the plans and specifications for this work and is
requesting Council approval to advertise for bids.
OPTIONS:
1. Return to staff for further review.
2. Adopt Resolution Number 05 - 32, approving the plans and specifications and
authorizing advertisement for bids for the 2005 Sealcoat project.
3. Not adopt Resolution Number 05 - 32.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option No. 2 - Staff recommends that Resolution Number 05 - 32 be adopted.
