CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO. 06 -04
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTES AND AWARDING A CONTRACT — 2006 DITCH AND
POND CLEANING PROJECT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to a request for quotes for the construction of the 2006 Ditch and Pond
project, Quotes were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following quotes
were received complying with the request:

Glen Rehbein Excavating No Bid
Ro -So Contracting, Inc. No Bid
W.B. Miller, Inc. No Bid
Jay Brothers, Inc. No Bid
Engineers Estimate $49,300.00
AND WHEREAS, it appears that Arnt Construction Company is the lowest responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO
LAKES, MINNESOTA:
1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Arnt
Construction Company, in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the construction of the
Ditch /Pond Cleaning Improvements according to the plans and specifications approved by
the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the
deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next
lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 9th day of January 2006.

BACKGROUND:
Quotes were received and publicly opened on December 22, 2005. The results of the
quotes are presented below. City Council action is required to award a contract to the
lowest responsible bidder.

Attached is a copy of the submitted quote.
This project will perform the necessary maintenance work as part of the Surface Water
Management. Arnt construction has satisfactorily performed this type of work
previously for the City of Lino Lakes.
The funding for this work is provided by the Surface Water Management Fund. This
fund was established in 1992 as a revenue source in order to meet the "administrative,
planning, ponding, mitigation, and water quality needs" of the City. It is reimbursed
through assessments to new subdivisions and is also collected as property owners
connect to City utilities.
OPTIONS:
1. Return to staff for further review.
2. Adopt Resolution Number 06 -04, accepting quotes and awarding a contract to Arnt
Construction Company, for the 2006 Ditch and Pond Cleaning project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Option No. 2 - Staff recommends adoption of Resolution Number 06 -04.
