City Council Revoking State Aid Street January 23, 2006 • Council Member q- 1111-2 introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 06 -11 RESOLUTION REVOKING MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREETS BIRCH ST (M.S.A. 210 - 112 -010) WHEREAS, It appears to the City Council of Lino Lakes, Minnesota that the road hereinafter described as a Municipal State Aid Street under the provision of Minnesota Laws; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA that the road described as follows, to -wit: Birch Street from CSAH 21 (Centerville Road) to CR 54 (20th Avenue S). The length of this segment is .75 miles. • be, and hereby is, revoked as a Municipal State Aid Street of said City subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Transportation of the State of Minnesota. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward two certified copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of Transportation for his consideration. ohn J. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Memberd1 oinvwi( and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: 64) , D`� � ltd, �Y-s The following voted against same: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. • • • STAFF ORIGINATOR: CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: TOPIC: ACTION REQUIRED: BACKGROUND AGENDA ITEM 6F Michael Grochala January 23, 2006 Consideration of Resolutions No. 06 -11 Revoking Municipal State Aid Street Designation (Birch Street) Simple Majority In December of 2005 the City Council adopted Resolution No. 05 -207 approving the designation CR 154 (Birch Street) from CSAH 21 (Centerville Road) to CR 54 (20th Avenue S) as a County State Aid Highway. Prior to this approval the .75 mile segment was included on the city's Municipal State Aid (MSA) system. Staff is now requesting council authorization to revoke the MSA designation from this road segment. By revoking the MSA status of the roadway the city will free up .75 miles of its available mileage allocation for designation elsewhere in the City. RECOMMENDATION Staff is recommending approval of Resolutions No. 06 -11 ATTACHMENTS 1. Resolution No. 06 -11 2.
