RESOLUTION _c„ STABLISHING THE
LINO LAKES CABLE COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the. City Council of the City of Lino Lakes is the official
governing body of the City of Lino Lakes empowered to provide for the
public health, safety, and welfare of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need for a citizen advisory
body to advise the Council on certain matters relating to franchising
a cable communications system:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lino Lakes as follows:
A. Establishment of the Commission:
1. That a commission, which shall be named the "Lino Lakes
Cable Communications Commission ", shall be established
to advise the City Council in relation to certain.aspects
of franchising a cable communications system in the City
of Lino Lakes.
2. That the Commission be composed of six (6) members. The
term of the appointments shall be the length of the
franchising process.
3. That the Commission shall be composed of members who shall
be residents of the City of Lino Lakes.
4. That the members shall serve without compensation and may
be removed from office at any time by the City Council.
5. That the appointments to said Commission shall be made
by the Mayor.
B. Duties of the Commission. The Commission is hereby directed
to advise the City Council and to:
1. Research Federal and State rules and regulations relating
to cable communications.
2,
Familiarize themselves with current and potential services
being offered by cable communications companies.
3. Assess communications needs in the Community.
4. Recommend to the City Council, if a need has been deter-
mined, to proceed with the franchising process. The
recommendation may be in the form of an invitation for
application for the franchise.
C. Scope of Authority:
1. That the Commission shall be advisory to and subject to
the direction and control of the City Council, and
the Commission shall follow the rules and regulations

guiding the conduct and operation of the Commission as
established for other City Boards and Commissions.'
2. That the Commission shall record the minutes of each
meeting which shall be filed in the office of the City
Clerk and shall be delivered to the Mayor and the City
Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be effective with
its adoption.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 8th day of
December, 1980.
