HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-007 Council Resolution• • _RESOLULTION 81 -7 RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF REDISTRICTING OF ANOKA COUNTY COMMISSIONER DISTRICTS TO SEVEN DISTRICTS FOR THE 1982 ELECTION. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Lino Lakes perceived the intent of Resolution 79-22 passed by the Anoka County Board of Commissioners, February 27, 1979, was to redistrict to seven districts, and WHEREAS, The Anoka County Legislative Delegation did, due to unanimous request of the Anoka County Board of Commissioners contained in Resolution 79 -22, carry and sucessfully pass a bill, Chapter 112 of the Minnesota Session Laws of 1979, providing the permissive authority for redistricting to seven districts which permissive authority must be exercised by December 31, 1981, and WHEREAS, It is the opinion of the Council of the City of Lino Lakes, that the proper representation and leadership for the citizens of Anoka County necessary for meeting the in- creased service demands of a growing county will best be realized through the redistricting of Anoka County Commissioner districts to seven districts; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes requests the Anoka County Board of Commissioners to redistrict to seven County Commissioner Districts for the 1982 election; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Lino Lakes supports the Anoka County Legislative delagation in the passage of H.F. 829 effecting said redistricting.
