RESOLUTION 81- 43
RESOLUTION RE- ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF SERGEANT FOR THE
LINO LAKES POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, in previous years the Lino Lakes Police Department functioned
under the supervision ofa Chief of Police and a Sergeant, and
WHEREAS, in 1978 the City Council felt it necessary to abolish the
Sergeants position due to financial pressures during that
time period, and
WHEREAS, the 1982 City Budget has earmarked funds for the position
of Sergeant and feels that such will create a more efficient
and effective law enforcement department:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
1 The Lino Lakes City Council hereby authorizes the
re- instatement of the position of Sergeant and offers
this opening to the officer who had previously held
the position if he so desires it under the job de-
scription established by the Chief of Police. This
position becomes effective January 1, 1982.
2 The Chief of Police is authorized to establish a job
description for such position to include detailed
job responsibilities.
3 Compensation for the position shall follow the
schedule as outlined in the 1981 -82 existing labor
contract.
