RESOLUTION #83 -06
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE LOCATION OF A RACING FACILITY WITHIN
THE CITY OF BLAINE, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA.
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
WHEREAS,
a State Constitutional Amendment allowing pari - mutuel
betting was approved by Minnesota voters on November
2, 1982, and
voters of the City of Lino Lakes approved the above
mentioned Amendment by a 74% margin, and
there appears to be a general public support for the
establishment of a racing facility within the area,
and
locating a major State wide recreational facility in
Northern portion of the Twin Cities area would provide
balance to the Metropolitan communities and equity
within the region, and
the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes believes the
location of a racing facility within the City of Blaine
would contribute significantly to the economy of the
entire County.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That:
1. The Lino Lakes City Council hereby fully supports
the location of a racing facility with the City
of Blaine.
2. The Lino Lakes City Council offers its cooperation
and assistance to the committees involved in the
establishment of a racing facility with the City
of Blaine.
