RESOLUTION #84 -2
RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE CREATION OF A TRI -CITY FIRE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, on January 14, 1984, the Fire Study Committee
met with elected officials from Centerville,
Circle Pines and Lino Lakes to discuss the future
of the Fire District, and
WHEREAS,
one purpose of the meeting was to receive input
concerning the draft joint powers agreement and
the future direction of such.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that:
1. The Lino Lakes City Council hereby supports
and wholeheartedly endorses the concept and
creation of a Fire District between the Cities
of Centerville, Circle Pines and Lino Lakes.
2. The Lino Lakes City Council understands that
the proposed joint powers agreement is only
a draft and the areas of voting powers,initial
contribution,and financial formulas must still
be refined in order to make the District
acceptable to all communities involved.
