RESOLUTION #38 - 86
RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE INSTALLATION OF A FREEWAY INTERCHANGE AT THE
CNTERSECTION OF COUNTY /STATE AID HIGHWAY 14, AND INTERSTATE 35W.
WHEREAS:
In 1974 Anoka County acquired approximately 2,500 acres within
the City of Lino Lakes for the purpose of establishing a re-
gional park and
WHEREAS: Anoka County has annually received Metropolitan Council funds
for the development for this Regional Park System and
WHEREAS: With these funds Anoka County has established within the Rice
Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park picnic, camping areas, hiking
trail systems, swimming beach area, access roads, boat access
i:nd a golf course, and
WHEREAS: These facilities are part of a regional sysem and draw on the
Minneapolis /St. Paul Region for users and
S WHEREAS: During the planning stages of this facility, Anoka County had
foreseen the need for an interchange at CSAH 14 and 35W to
enable users from the metropolitan area easy access to said
facility.
Now therefore be it resolved that the Lino Lakes City Council requests Anoka
County to take the appropriate action to coordinate the upgrading of CSAH 14
to include an interchange at the afore mentioned intersection, thereby pro-
viding access to the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park.
