Council Member Roeser introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO. 12-46
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT,
2012 MILL AND OVERLAY IMPROVEMENT
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of the 2012 Mill and
Overlay Improvements, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the
following bids were received complying with the advertisement:

AND WHEREAS, it appears that North Metro Asphalt & Contracting is the lowest responsible
bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO
LAKES, MINNESOTA:
1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with North
Metro Asphalt & Contracting, in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the construction of
the 2012 Mill and Overlay Improvements according to the plans and specifications
approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidder the Bid
Bonds made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next
two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been signed.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member
Rafferty and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:

The following voted against same:
none (Absent - O'Donnell)
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

Dear Mayor and Council Members:
Bids were received for the above - referenced project on Monday, June 4, 2012, and were opened
and read aloud. Five bids were received. The bids were checked for mathematical accuracy and
tabulated. Please find enclosed the bid tabulation indicating the low bid as submitted by North
Metro Asphalt Contracting LLC, Ham Lake, Minnesota, in the amount of $183,741.58. The
Engineer's Estimate for the project was $201,582.50.
We recommend that the City Council consider these bids and award a contract in the amount of
$183,741.58 to North Metro Asphalt Contracting LLC based on the results of the bids received.
