RESOLUTION NO. 12 -47
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT,
2012 SEAL COATING IMPROVEMENT
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construction of the 2012 Seal Coating
Improvements, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids
were received complying with the advertisement:

Asphalt Surface Technologies Corporation (ASTECH)
Allied Blacktop Company

• AND WHEREAS, it appears that Pearson Bros., Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO
LAKES, MINNESOTA:
1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with
Pearson Bros., Inc., in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the construction of the 2012
Seal Coating Improvements according to the plans and specifications approved by the City
Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidder the Bid
Bonds made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next
two lowest bidders shall be retained until a contract has been signed.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member
Roeser and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Rafferty, Roeser, Stoesz, Reinert

none (Absent - O'Donnell)
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

Dear Mayor and Council Members:
Bids were received for the above - referenced project on Monday, June 4, 2012, and were opened
and read aloud. Three bids were received. The bids were checked for mathematical accuracy
and tabulated. Please find enclosed the bid tabulation indicating the low bid as submitted by
Pearson Bros., Inc., Hanover, Minnesota, in the amount of $255,999.75. The Engineer's
Estimate for the project was $263,781.25.
We recommend that the City Council consider these bids and award a contract in the amount of
$255,999.75 to Pearson Bros., Inc. based on the results of the bids received.
