HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-010 Council ResolutionCITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 13 -10 APPROVING NO PARKING RESTRICTION ON BOTH SIDES OF OTTER LAKE ROAD FROM MAIN STREET (CSAH 14) TO 400 FEET NORTH OF MAIN STREET (CSAH 14), S.A.P.: 210 - 114 -001 WHEREAS, The City has planned the improvements of Otter Lake Road from Main Street (CSAH 14) to 400 feet north of Main Street (CSAH 14) ; and WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has ordered the project for the Otter Lake Road Street and Utility Improvements; and WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes will be expending Municipal State Aid System funds on improvements to Otter Lake Road; and WHEREAS, this improvement does not provide adequate width for parking on both sides of the street; and approval of the proposed construction as a Municipal State Aid project must therefore be conditioned upon certain parking restrictions. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of The City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota: That the City shall ban the parking of motor vehicles on both sides of Otter Lake Road from Main Street (CSAH 14) to 400 feet north of Main Street (CSAH 14) at all times. Wedel, City Engineer MEETING DATE: January 28, 2013 TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 13 -10, Approving No Parking Designation, Otter Lake Road VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority INTRODUCTION Staff is requesting the City Council approve a no parking designation for the sections of Otter Lake Road included in the proposed roadway extension project in compliance with State Aid Rules. BACKGROUND: Final design has been completed for the improvements of the Otter Lake Road Extension Project. Construction is anticipated to start in the spring of 2013. Based on the roadway design and State Aid Rules on- street parking will not be allowed on the roadways. As part of the project approvals the Minnesota Department of Transportation requires the local jurisdiction to designate this restriction. The designation for Otter Lake Road will apply Main Street (CSAH 14) to 400 feet to the north. RECOMMENDATION Staff is recommending adoption of Resolutions No. 13 -10, Approving the No Parking Designation for Otter Lake Road. ATTACHMENTS 1. Resolution No. 13 -10
