HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-064 Council Resolution• • • CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 13 -64 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DISTRIBUTION OF LOCAL SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT FOR REVIEW WHEREAS, Emmons & Olivier Resources, Inc., has prepared the City's Local Surface Water Management Plan in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, Section 103B.235; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by The City Council of The City of Lino Lakes that city staff is hereby authorized to distribute such plan to all required agencies for review and comment. Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this 13th day of May, 2013. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member Roeser and was duly seconded by Council Member Rafferty and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Roeser, Rafferty, Stoesz, O'Donnell, Reinert The following voted against same: none ATTEST: e Bartell, C. y Cle Jeff Reine , Mayor • • • CITY COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM 6F STAFF ORIGINATOR: Michael Grochala MEETING DATE: May 13, 2013 TOPIC: Consider Resolution No. 13 -64, Authorizing Distribution of Local Surface Water Management Plan, Michael Grochala VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 INTRODUCTION Staff is requesting City Council authorization to distribute the draft Local Surface Water Management Plan for review in accordance with Minnesota Statutes. BACKGROUND The City of Lino Lakes is required to prepare a Surface Water Management Plan that must, at a minimum, meet the requirements for local plans in the Minnesota Statutes, Section 103B.235 and be in conformance with Watershed District, Management Organization, and Metropolitan Council plans. The City's "first generation" plan was adopted in 1994. Since this time both the Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) and the Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization (VLAWMO) have updated their watershed management plans. As such the City is required to updated its existing plan. The update is also a requirement as part of the Metropolitan Council's review of the City's Comprehensive Plan. The City Council authorized preparation of the Surface Water Management Plan. City staff has substantially completed the report and it requesting authorization to distribute the plan for review. The Surface Water Management distribution will be sent to RCWD, VLAWMO, Metropolitan Council, and Anoka County. RECOMMENDATION Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 13 -64 ATTACHMENTS 1.
