CITY OF LINO LAKES
RESOLUTION NO. 13-86
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTES AND AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT, 2013 SEAL COATING IMPROVEMENT
WHEREAS, pursuant to the request for quotes for the construction of the 2013 Seal Coating
Improvements, quotes were received, opened and tabulated, and the following quotes were received
complying with the request:
Contractor Amount of bid
Pearson Bros., Inc. $63,080.00
Allied Blacktop Company $62,422.00
Engineer's Estimate $72,850.00
AND WHEREAS, it appears that Allied Blacktop Company is the lowest responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lino Lakes:
1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Allied
Blacktop Company, in the name of the City of Lino Lakes for the construction of the 2013
Seal Coating Improvements according to the plans and specifications approved by the City
Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk.
Adopted by the Council of the City of Lino Lakes this2 2n4ay of July , 2013.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member
Roeser and was duly seconded by Council Member O' Donnell and upon
vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Roeser, O'Donnell, Rafferty, Stoesz, Reinert
The following voted against same:
none

BACKGROUND
Quotes were received at 11:00 a.m. on July 17, 2013. The results of the quotes are presented
below. City Council action is required to award a construction contract to the lowest responsible
contractor.

Pearson Bros., Inc. $63,080.00
Allied Blacktop Company $62,422.00
Engineer's Estimate $72,850.00
The low quotes are competitive for this project. The final completion date for this project is August
31, 2013.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 13 -86 Accepting Quotes and Awarding a Construction
Contract for the 2013 Seal Coating Improvement.
