RESOLUTION NO. 07 -04
APPROVING NORTHWOODS HUMANE SOCIETY APPLICATION FOR A
1 TO 4 DAY TEMPORARY ON -SALE LIQUOR LICENSE
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute, Section 340, allows the city council to issue a
temporary on -sale liquor license to a non - profit organization in connection with a
social event sponsored by the licensee and held within the city limits; and
WHEREAS, Northwoods Humane Society has submitted an application to hold a
fundraising event at Chomonix Golf Course, 646 Sandpiper Drive, on
February 10, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Northwoods Humane Society has paid the required fee, and
WHEREAS, the City of Lino Lakes has conducted an investigation of
Northwoods Humane Society, and
WHEREAS, the Alcohol & Gambling Enforcement Division requires the
• application be approved by the City of Lino Lakes City Council before submitting
for approval to the liquor control board.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lino Lakes City Council hereby
approves the request of Northwood Humane Society for a temporary on -sale
liquor license.

Council Member stol tz and upon vote being taken thereon, the

Application for Temporary On -Sale Liquor
License for Northwoods Humane Society
VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority (3/5 Vote)
BACKGROUND:
The Northwoods Humane Society has scheduled a fundraising event at Chomonix Golf
Course, 646 Sandpiper Drive, for February 10, 2007. As part of the event, attendees
can participate in a complementary wine tasting sponsored by wine vendors. The
organization is required to obtain a 1 to 4 Day Temporary On -Sale Liquor License for
this activity and they have submitted an application for the license.
The applicant is required to submit the application to the city, for approval, at least 30
days prior to the event and City policy requires a background investigation on the CEO
each time a permit or license application is received. The Lino Lakes Police Department
has completed the background check and has found no reason to deny the license.
A copy of the application, a copy of the certificate of liquor liability insurance and the
results of the background check are on file in the city clerk's office.
