HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-035 Council ResolutionCouncil Member o'nonneltroduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 07 -35 APPROVING NO PARKING RESTRICTION S.A.P.: 210 - 020 -005 MAIN STREET (ANOKA COUNTY #14) FROM I -35W TO I -35E IN THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA. WHEREAS, THIS RESOLUTION was passed this 26th day of February, 2007, by the City of Lino Lakes in Anoka County, Minnesota. The Municipal corporation shall hereinafter be called the "City ", WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, The "City ", has planned the improvements of Main Street, State Aid Route No. 210 - 020 -005 from I -35W to I -35E in the City of Lino Lakes, Minnesota; and WHEREAS, the "City" will be expending Municipal Street Aid Funds on the improvements of this Street; and WHEREAS, this improvement does not provide adequate width for parking on both sides of the street; and approval of the proposed construction as a Municipal State Aid project must therefore be conditioned upon certain parking restrictions. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED: That the "City" shall ban the parking of motor vehicles on both sides of Main Street:I- 35W to I -35E at all times. Dated this 26th day of February, 2007. Bergeso ,, Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member Carlson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: O'Donnell, Carlson, Reinert, Bergeson The following voted against same: none Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. • • AGENDA ITEM 6E STAFF ORIGINATOR: Michael Grochala CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: February 26, 2007 TOPIC: Consideration of Resolution No. 07 -35, Approving No Parking Designation, CSAH 14 (Main St.) 35W to 35E VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority BACKGROUND: Anoka County is nearing completion of final design for the reconstruction of CSAH 14 (Main Street) from I -35W to I -35E. Construction is anticipated to start in June of 2007. Based on the roadway design and State Aid Rules on- street parking will not be allowed on the roadway except for specified areas within downtown Centerville. As part of the project approvals the Minnesota Department of Transportation requires the local jurisdiction to designate this restriction. • The designation will apply to the stretch of CSAH 14 from I -35W through the park to the corporate boundary with Centerville and from 21st Avenue to the I -35E ramps. RECOMMENDATION Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution No. 07 -35 Approving the No Parking Designation for CSAH 14. ATTACHMENTS 1. Resolution No. 07 -35 •
