HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-057 Council ResolutionCouncil Member stns, introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: CITY OF LINO LAKES RESOLUTION NO. 07 -57 RESOLUTION REVOKING MUNICIPAL STATE AID STREET DESIGNATION (M.S.A. 210- 114 -020) AND (M.S.A. 210- 115 -020). WHEREAS, It appears to the City Council of Lino Lakes, Minnesota that the road hereinafter described as a Municipal State Aid Street under the provision of Minnesota Laws; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LINO LAKES, MINNESOTA that the road described as follows, to -wit: M.S.A 210 - 115 -020 from County Road 153 (Lilac Street) to County State Aid Highway 23 (Lake Drive). The length of this segment is 0.25 miles. M.S.A. 210 - 114 -020 from Cedar Street East to County Road 84 (Otter Lake Road). The length of this segment is 0.22 miles and, be, and hereby is, revoked as a Municipal State Aid Street of said City subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Transportation of the State of Minnesota. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward two certified copies of this resolution to the Commissioner of Transportation for his /her consideration. ne Bartell, ty Adopted by the Lino Lakes City Council this 23rd day of April, 2007. Studenski, City Engineer COUNCIL MEETING DATE: April 23, 2007 TOPIC: Resolution No. 07 — 57, Revoking Municipal State Aid Street Designation (M.S.A. 210- 114 -020) and (M.S.A. 210- 115 -020). VOTE REQUIRED: Simple Majority BACKGROUND: Each State Aid eligible municipality must submit an annual inventory of the City's existing and proposed State Aid routes. This annual inventory is the basis that MnDOT uses to determine allocation of State Aid funds. M.S.A. 210 - 115 -020 represents County State Aid Highway 12 (Apollo Drive), which is • not eligible to be part of the Lino Lakes M.S.A. System because it is a County State Aid Highway (CSAH) and receives State Aid funds through the CSAH system. The 0.25 miles of this segment will be used elsewhere in the M.S.A System to more accurately represent the City's future needs. See attached MAP #1 M.S.A. 210 - 114 -020 represents Clearwater Creek Drive north of East Cedar Street, the current alignment passes through an existing commercial property. The total length of this segment is 0.22 miles. To more accurately represent the City's future needs, 0.12 miles will be re- designated to Cedar Street East from Clearwater Creek Drive to Otter Lake Road and 0.10 miles will be used elsewhere in the M.S.A System. See attached MAP #2. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends adoption of Resolution Number 07 — 57, Revoking Municipal State Aid Street Designation (M.S.A. 210 - 114 -020) and (M.S.A. 210 - 115 -020). •
